Needing to submit dental extractions for an oral surgeon to medical insurance first. Dental insurance requires medical be billing prior to dental.

Should we submit with the D codes or submit with the 41899?

Hi Guest!

Great question. It depends on the insurer! Some medical insurers will process the "D" codes, some cannot process codes starting with a "D" and will require the CPT code instead.
